Disassemble only what you can identify and control safely. The right answer depends on the frame, fasteners, wall attachments and the route out.
Frames that are usually straightforward
Simple metal rails, loose slats and bolt-together platforms often separate into manageable pieces. Keep hardware in a container so sharp fasteners do not disappear into carpet.
Frames that need more care
Storage beds, adjustable bases, upholstered frames and wall-mounted headboards can hide wiring, lift mechanisms or heavy panels. Share the make or photos before the appointment.
Safe preparation
Remove bedding, empty storage compartments and clear both sides of the bed. Do not work beneath an unsupported component. Get help when a piece is bulky enough to block your view or grip.
What to tell the crew
List the mattress, foundation, headboard, footboard, rails, slats and any drawers. Note stairs, elevators and the narrowest turn.
